(April 30, 2021) - In 2020 most Friday nights ended with Mike McKinney in victory lane. So far in 2021 Mike had not made his presence known in the state of Illinois, on Friday night that all changed. Competing at Farmer City for the first time this season Mike found himself in the same place, victory lane. McKinney was able to hold off the youngster Michael Ledford and pick up the win.
In the Late Model feature we may have seen the race of the night. Mike Glasscock, the defending track champion got out front early and led nearly the whole event. But with just a couple laps to go the Farmer City cushion in turn four got the best of Mike and he got into the wall and then went airborne off turn 4 towards the crowd. He was able to gather it back up and find his way back to the racing surface. But in the mean time Mike Spatola, who was stalking Glasscock all race long took over the lead. Spatola held on in the last two laps and picked up his second win of the year at Farmer City. Glasscock came home runner up.
In Pro Late Model action it was the youngster Chase Osterhoff who picked up his first win of the year. He got out front after starting on the pole and never looked back. Kyle McMahon finished second.
In Street Stock action Megan Erwin used the pole position to help get out front and win for the second time this year during Friday Night Lights. Tanner Sullivan, in his 2021 debut took the lead for a lap or two early on but mechanical issues sidelined him and gave the lead back to Megan. Fairbury, Illinois driver Josh Hetherington was able to finish second.
In the final event of the night outside front row starter Jake Montgomery brought home the win in Pro Modified action. Kyle Helmick was second and Highland, Illinois driver Cody Zobrist took the third spot.
